Through Visibility "

ecVision
announced that California-based retailer Mervyns, which
operates 173 department stores in 8 states and produces
private label fashion and home decor products, plans
to implement XpressCommerce® to support its global
buying and sourcing process and to improve its brand
management.
|
|
“The
key driver for moving to ecVision XpressCommerce was
the need to improve product development cycle times,” said
Becky Nesmith, Director of Operations, Product Design & Development
at Mervyns. “We also wanted to eliminate redundant
efforts, improve visibility into the product lifecycle,
and put a platform in place that facilitates collaboration
between our internal teams, overseas buying offices
and factories. We chose ecVision because of their ability
to integrate with external systems and extend our capabilities
from the product lifecycle into the supply chain."

ecVision
XpressCommerce is a Web-based Product Lifecycle Execution™ solution
that delivers the key functions of product lifecycle
management (PLM) and supply chain execution (SCE) systems.
The project calls for tight integration to multiple
systems including Gerber Technology WebPDM® and
JDA MMS. XpressCommerce will serve as the central collaboration
platform connecting Mervyns with over 700 trading partners
globally during the initial launch period. They intend
to use XpressCommerce for both international and domestic
sourcing activities. XpressCommerce enables retailers
to be more flexible with the changing consumer trends,
increase margins, improve productivity of their global
supply network, and quickly deliver quality items to
their customers.

“Visibility” during
product design, development and manufacturing is the
key to driving continuous improvement and performance
management. With the greater complexities that come along
with bringing product development "in house",
private label retailers have a greater need for visibility.
|
|
During
this free web event, we will discuss visibility in the
product lifecycle and supply chain; what it is, why it
is important, the factors that affect our ability for
clear visibility, how to achieve it, and what to do with
it once you have it.

Effective Dashboard
Reports and Scorecards Convey Critical Data to
Retailers
|
|
ecVision
XpressCommerce®, a leading Product Lifecycle
Execution™ solution for consumer brand retailers,
is providing comprehensive visibility into the entire
product lifecycle through dashboard reporting and
vendor scorecarding capabilities.
|
|
XpressCommerce® connectsr
etailers to all of their vendors and trading partners,
and delivers the key functions of product lifecycle
management (PLM) and supply chain execution (SCE)
systems.
|
| |
In the
current release of this web-based software package,
users are able to build custom reports utilizing
the report wizard. Since XpressCommerce is a single
platform capturing data from both PLM and SCE tasks,
these reports are able to display clear, actionable
information about current and historical performance
in the context of planned or expected performance.
These reports give users all the information they
need -- including financial and operational information
-- in a highly graphical, intuitive format making
it easy to investigate and explore further, if necessary,
to make proactive business decisions.
|
|
In
a 2006 AMR Research study, self-service reporting
capabilities are the #1 priority to enhance supplier
performance management. ecVision’s supplier
management functionality provides access to information
on suppliers that allows users to improve their sourcing
capabilities and perform more efficiently. Key performance
indicators (KPIs) such as on-time performance, quality
performance, production variety, and production capabilities
are used to generate a vendor report card illustrating
the vendor’s rating.
|
|
This
module is also designed to ensure that factories
abide with your social responsibility standards (human
rights compliance). It includes workplace code of
conduct audits, such as working hours, age requirements,
discrimination, living conditions, etc. Business
rules can create alerts or even prevent orders from
being sent to non-complying vendors/factories.
|
|
The
enhancements in this release provide users with the
ability to easily share critical product and analysis
information. Armed with this information, retailers
are able to be more flexible with the changing consumer
trends, increase margins, improve productivity of
their global supply network, and quickly deliver
quality items to their customers.
