XpressCommerce ® Ship Module
Today the majority of retailers manage shipping processes across a variety of in-house enterprise and supply chain systems, supplier databases, and 3PL systems. In
this environment, it is difficult - if not impossible - to have a single view of the entire
sourcing and shipment process from a single vantage point.
As a comprehensive Product Lifecycle Execution™ (PLE™) solution,
XpressCommerce® encompasses both PLM and SCE functionality creating a unique
offering that is a dynamic tool for product development and planning. These
advanced capabilities help organize product information from the initial concept
through to the shipment tracking process and provide the necessary collaboration
and visibility to everyone involved in these processes.
The tracking schedule is automatically updated and alerts are triggered when pre-defined objectives and schedules are not met. This level of control and visibility
enables retail organizations to monitor shipments across the supply chain, tracking
progress and acknowledging receipt into the warehouse.
Throughout the shipping process, the underlying framework of XpressCommerce® provides time-and-action calendars to mark major milestones and timelines related to
the shipment of each product order.
|
Additional tools that help users effectively manage the process are part of the framework. They include:
- Alerts are automatically generated based on each client's business rules, and include an automated
escalation feature to ensure proper managerial oversight - enabling true management-by-exception.
- Dashboard and reports provide a rollup or summary status for the entire line that highlights where major
issues need attention. This robust feature enables users to create, run, save, schedule, print or export
comprehensive reports with
summary, drilldown and tabular
capabilities.
- Trading partner collaboration
enables secured access to data by
outside trading partners that
participate in the development
sourcing, and shipment tracking
processes - defining, building and
maintaining the relationship
between each organization.

The Ship Module contains robust
functionality for retailers, agents and
factories to expedite the product to
market. With information from the
Purchase Order, either imported from an
external system or originating in
XpressCommerce, the tracking schedule
provides critical milestones for inspection,
document creation, packing, and booking & transportation activities. |
First, factories and suppliers can create all of the necessary documents such as packing lists, ASNs, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin, from the existing PO, eliminating redundant data entry. Shipping information can be captured and maintained down to carton level detail and the system also supports auto- pack for ease of use. A three-way match feature validates the information contained on all of the shipping documents ensuring accurate trade documentation.
Quality control inspections can be scheduled and parties alerted notifying them of completion. This feature can support sample and finished goods, as well as social compliance or factory inspections. Inspection teams can utilize the online forms to quickly transmit the results to the retailer. |
 |
|
XpressCommerce also enables “scan & pack” capabilities and the printing of UCC 128 carton labels. Once
packed and ready, the system easily integrates with third-party logistics and warehouse management systems.
